Stick Graft (duo) is the compositional and performance fusing of Chapman Stick artist Brian Baggett (Fort Qu'Appelle) and flautist, singer Marie-Véronique Bourque (Regina). This pairing, formed in January 2019, offers a unique instrumental combination of wind and amplified strings with an uncategorized style leaning towards jazz and improvisation.

Brian Baggett

Brian Baggett (originally from Houston, TX USA) has a thirty plus year background in classical, jazz, rock, experimental and improvisatory music. As a solo act with 10-string Chapman Stick, Brian brings fluid relevancy between all music genres in a live setting.

His third full length recording Bookmarks (Oct 2018) features reinterpretations of compositions by Paul Simon, Pat Metheny, John Coltrane, The WHO, and others. Bookmarks landed twice on National Top Ten Jazz Charts at #7, Canada's Top 50 chart at #41 and Canada's Top 20 Monthly Jazz Chart at #9.

Marie-Véronique Bourque

Marie-Véronique Bourque (originally from Quebec City, QC) also has a thirty plus year background in classical, jazz, folk, chanson française, world and improvisatory music. Marie- Véronique has performed with diverse groups through the years in UK, Switzerland, France, US, Quebec, Manitoba and Saskatchewan, including the Regina Symphony Orchestra.

Her first album Une porte s'ouvre (Oct 2018) features original songs and new arrangements of songs from Legrand, Nougaro, Gainsbourg, Aznavour, Ravel and Koffman. With this album, Marie- Véronique was nominee for the 2018 Saskatchewan Music Awards. Une porte s'ouvre was voted #5, 2018 Saskatchewan Best Album of the Year. It has also landed twice on National Top Ten Jazz Charts at #8 and #9 and monthly Jazz Chart at #9 (Earshot Magazine).
